Before he became an entertainment columnist and anchor, BENJIE "TsongkiBenj" FELIPE started to learn the basics of writing and acting in theatre. He studied re-writing theatre scripts and acquired his acting skills through his mentors Angie Ferro and Lou Veloso. He worked for People's Journal as a janitor before he became a police beat reporter. Because of his eagerness and impressive job, he was brought to University of the Philippines Diliman to study poetry. TsongkiBenj learned to master literary writing when he met the veteran writer and reporter Vet Vitug.  Last December 2012, he became a fellow and awardee of 16th Lopez Jaena Community Journalism Workshop in University of the Philippines Diliman.  TsongkiBenj got the chance to write a column in different publications like Bongga, Manila Chronicle, Abante, People's Tonight, People's Journal, People's Journal, Mariposa Publication, Bulgar Publishhing, Isyu, etc. While he was the editor in chief for 'The Buzz' magazine, 'Dyaryo Patro'l, and 'Wow Pinas' in the late 90's, he was also given an acting job on television and movie.  TsongkiBenj started his career in radio when he became a voice talent for Ben David. He was promoted as a radio reporter by Mar De Guzman Cruz in DZAM. He then went to another AM station (DWST) as a reporter and radio segment producer, until he was asked by Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM to be an anchor for two programs. He presently anchors NITE CHAT every weekdays and KASINDAK-SINDAK every Sundays.  In the production side, he became a director of 'Philippines' Most Wanted' program hosted by Raffy Tulfo from 1997 to 2001, and a segment producer for 'The Buzz' hosted by Boy Abunda.
