LOURD DE VEYRA is a poet, novelist, musician, broadcast journalist.   He has published three collections of poetry: Subterranean Thought Parade (1998), Shadowboxing in Headphones (2001), and Insectissimo (2011), plus a novel, Superpanalo Sounds (2011, UST Publishing House), a finalist in the National Book Awards.  Lourd has a collection of essays from his Spot.ph blog, This is a Crazy Planets (2011).  He has won four Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature as well as the Free Press Literary Awards and the first ever National Commission for Culture and the Arts Writers Prize.  He fronts a spoken word-jazz-rock band, Radioactive Sago Project, which has released four full-length albums. Graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, AB Journalism as a Philippine Daily Inquirer Scholar. He wrote for the cultures and arts section of Today and was junior associate for poetry of the UST Center for Creative Writing and Studies. At present, Lourd anchors for News 5, where he hosts a video commentary segment called “Word of the Lourd,” does the weather report for Aksyon Prime, and the Aksyon TV 41 talk show Wasak. He also hosts a nightly radio commentary program, “Sabi Ni Lourd".
